Permission To Live The Dream

Laying on the hood of an old junked car in the front yard of my grandma's house in Puerto Rico, the two bedroom house I grew up in with my parents and 5 brothers and sisters, while grandma lived in New York.  Looking at the sky at barely 10 years old, I used to think, "there must be an incredible future for my life".  Then closing my eyes, I would day dream that against the odds, somewhere out there were opportunities waiting for me and that I had a Father with unlimited resources Who would provide them for me.  I tried to dream for as long as I could, then I would wake up to a life of bare necessities and an absent father, even though he was physically there.

Today, I am giving myself permission to live that dream.  Exactly 2 years ago (see blog post of August 19, 2010) I started Beauty in the Making, wedding and event planning and design while holding a "day job" to make ends meet.  After a couple of years of much work, dedication, sacrifices, failures and successes, I left my security blanket day job behind to dive completely into a pool of dreams full of opportunities to achieve that incredible future I dreamt of as a child.

Totally overwhelmed with how my heavenly Father is pouring His incredible favor, opportunities and resources upon my life.  I know I will be swimming in the depths of my dreams for a very long time.  And while there, it pleases me to indulge in the leisure of making my couples' dreams a reality.  Because dreams do come true... even the ones of childhood!

Just because a post is always better with a photo.  I am sharing an image from the Green Garden Miami Beach Wedding Shoot that Jillian Tree captured so beautifully.  I call it humble beginnings.
