Wedding Day Emergency Kit & Gear

Imagine that it's time.  The groom must walk down the aisle to wait for his bride, who is waiting anxiously for him to take his place.  As he is going to enter the chapel he hears a funny noise following him.  No, no one was cheering him on, it was the sole of his shoe that came apart and was clapping his every step.

What can he do at this time?  Either ignore the clapping an pretend that it is all part of the plan, switch shoes with the best man (hoping he is either the same size or bigger) or just style some shoeless look.  Thankfully, he doesn't have to do either.  The emergency kit is here to save the date.  Some crazy glue fixes last minutes mishaps like this in a second.

Ladies and gentlemans, let me present to you... my faithful assistants!

This images were taken with my state of the art phone... not bad Samsung Admire.

In addition to the emergency kit, I use a shoulder bag to keep at hand small items that are often needed most.  It always reminds me of the movie The Wedding Planner, it starts with a wedding seen where Jennifer Lopez has everything she needs in the lining of jacket to rescue the day.  Solving every situation right as it happens.  Epic.

I am no JLo, but I do love providing solutions to wedding emergencies so that it goes off without a hitch.  Hey, you never know, maybe she will hire me to do her next wedding!

I was given an "emergency kit" for my shower in a really pretty vintage style train suitcase & let me tell you it was great! There were also stockings in mine & I do think we put mine to use since my bustle still dragged, & so it wouldn't get stepped on (more than it had) we used the safety pins in the case to hike it up more so!! :)

  2. Eileen - Thank you so much for this post. I never considered checking in the scrapbooking area of the store until your post. I was so excited when I saw the bag with the compartments in the new Michael's in my area. It wasn't expensive at all, and I snapped it right up. This is so much better than my oversized bag with lots of zip-loc bags full of "stuff." I love your blog and appreciate your willingness to share!
