Kismet: Fate, destiny, lot, fortune, doom, chance - portion.
On a full moon day with blue skies and bare feet, the intimate ceremony was held on the gorgeous island of Islamorada. The family watched as the couple wed next to a cuban boat that long ago had washed up on the soft, white beach. Using only elements that were there, we decided to drape the boat with Hanging Amaranthus, Garden Roses and Peonies. Delicate blues, pale pinks and white were the color palette. Wanting to express their style in a non-traditional way, the couple opted to use unruled florals and attention to details. The ceremony programs were scrolled, sealed with a dollar shell and attached to a straw fan that was placed in each chair. Bugsy, a Jack-Chi: half Jack Russell and half Chihuahua, was the ring bearer. These images can clearly capture their happiness, but you needed to be there to really feel the love between them.
The dinner following the ceremony was held at the Blue Charlotte House in The Moorings Village, halfway between Miami and Key West, a 20 acre property built in 1936 as a private estate on what was once a coconut plantation. The wood table was lit perfectly with candles alongside shells, ranunculus, peonies, air plants, sea glass and driftwood. And to top it all off, the simple white cake was adorned with a single piece of coral.
It was indeed an enchanting evening for this stunning couple. Every event was filled with laughter, love and attention to detail. The night was fully led and nothing short of magical. And that is exactly how it ended with beautiful fireworks under a gorgeous moon.
