Something Old, Something New, Something Borrow, Something Blue

Brides constantly wonder what they are missing out in if they don't have "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrow or Something Blue."  A good luck saying which dates back to the Victorian era and many brides will ensure that every one of them in their wedding outfit.

Something Old is a symbol of continuity.  Some brides choose to wear a family jewelry or a locket with photos of parents or grandparents.  Other things that may be chosen include a handkerchief, a scarf or a piece of lace.

Something New represents hopes for a bright future in her new married life.  It conveys the message that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever.  Anything purchased new for the wedding can be chosen as the new item.

Something Borrowed represents to the bride that friends and family will be there for her on the special day and in the future when help is needed.  Borrowing an item that comes from a happily married woman.  Anything can be borrow but it must be returned after the wedding.

Something Blue in ancient times was a symbol of faithfulness, purity and loyalty.  So don't forget to wear anything blue.
