Happy 10/10/10

When I was about 12 I looked to this date and thought it was millions of years away.  As a young girl I knew that life will be different today.  And it is.  Very different from growing up in the Barrio Cotto Mabu in Humacao, Puerto Rico.  I lived very humbly with my parents, my 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  We were a large family but that was common in Puerto Rico back then.  I had dreams and high expectations from life, especially from God.  I knew that He was watching over me and that He had a great future for my life.

The time came, at the age of 16, when I was able to leave my home behind and move to The Big Apple full of dreams and a desire to live life to the fullest.  Even though it seems like no too long ago, so much has happened.  I learned English, learned how to drive, had a boyfriend and broke his heart, went to college, worked as a taxi driver, got married and got divorce, move to Tampa, study computer accounting, dated, had my heart broken, move to South Beach, became a dancer, had my heart broken again, got a beeper, Studied acting, backpacked in Europe, learned how to dance Samba, Met Chayanne, gave my life to Jesus, congregated in Calvary Chapel Miami Beach, worked with some amazing entertainers, got a cellular, got engaged, got my heart broken again, grew in the knowledge of Christ, worked as a GM presenter traveling through the United States, travel some more through Europe, went to visit Julie in Japan, fellowship with the people in Calvary Miami and help translating the services into Spanish, visited Israel with my mom, work in national sales, served tables and studied Wedding and Event Planning.

Through it all I laughed, cried, loved, not loved, liked, disliked, lost, won, failed, succeeded, made mistakes, hit it right on the nail, had pride, was humbled, dreamed, detoured, was thankful, have been ungrateful, have been loved, have been rejected, was right, was wrong, have sinned and being forgiven.

The best part of my journey is the amazing people that have brought so much beauty to my life.  I am still a work in process but I am so thankful for my life as it is now.  I am not where I thought I would be on 10/10/10 but I am excited to be alive and have and opportunity to celebrate this day and look forward to the future.  What are you grateful for?

Happy 10/10/10!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know everything,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

  1. wow! you've lived quite the life already my dear. I fully enjoyed this as it reminded me of how human we are yet how beautiful God's mercy is. We may make mistakes but by His never ending love and sacrifice, we live. I'm most grateful for that. Thank you for the beautiful reminder.
